Fifth year in a row is misleading (although true). It’s the second time in a row.

Yeah, you are right. He won it five times and have been reigning for five years continuously, which are not the same thing in this case. But, fortunately, I wrote “the world champion for the fifth year in a row”, which is correct, isn’t it?
